CARE GUIDE
Our pieces are made with care using high quality materials, passing through many hands to reach you. We are committed to crafting pieces that are destined to last if they are handled with care and well-looked after. We have provided a detailed guide below to ensure the longevity of your Dinosaur Designs collection.
Resin Jewellery
Matte Resin
Resin is strong and durable, yet should be treated as a ceramic. Just like ceramic it can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Dinosaur Designs is not responsible for breakages that result from pieces being dropped or knocked, or that are damaged due to general wear and tear.
Like many materials, certain colours in resin may change over time, due to the conditions they are exposed to. We do not consider this to be a flaw in the product, merely a characteristic of the product as it ages, giving your piece an individual patina. To prolong the original colours, keep away from sunlight.
To restore sheen to your matte resin jewellery, simply apply moisturiser.
Polished Resin
Resin is strong and durable, yet should be treated as a ceramic. Just like ceramic it can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Dinosaur Designs is not responsible for breakages that result from pieces being dropped or knocked, or that are damaged due to general wear and tear.

To keep your polished resin jewellery in great condition, simply wipe with a clean, dry cloth.
Resin and Metal
Some of our pieces are designed with metal and resin working in tandem. Each material requires seperate care. For these pieces, we recommend citing the care instructions for each material. To restore shine to matte resin pieces, simply apply moisturiser only to the resin areas, avoiding any metal areas. To restore shine to polished resin pieces, simply wipe with a clean, dry cloth. When cleaning the metal details, avoid areas of resin.
Hinged Bangles
Some of our resin bangles use a metal hinge. While this hinge is strong and durable, it can sprain if over extended and lose some of its tension. Dinosaur Designs is not responsible for damage caused to pieces through general wear and tear.
Metal Jewellery
925 Sterling Silver Jewellery
925 sterling silver is a naturally soft metal and should be treated with special care to avoid damage. Avoid exposure to perfumes, oils and household chemicals. If tarnishing occurs, wipe with a silver cleaning cloth. To extend the life of your metal jewellery, we recommend keeping in a soft pouch or jewellery box, out of direct sunlight and heat in a cool, dry place. Do not wear when swimming in salt or chlorinated water. While some styles may appear to have flexibility, all pieces should not be tampered with to prevent strain or breakage, as is standard with all pieces of metal jewellery.
Brass / Copper Jewellery
Brass and copper are naturally soft metals and should be treated with special care to avoid damage. Keep away from hard surfaces as the bumps and scratches will cause wear to pieces.
Avoid exposure to perfumes, oils and household chemicals. Do not wear when swimming in salt or chlorinated water.
Brass and copper may naturally oxidise over time, giving your piece an individual patina. If tarnishing occurs, wipe with a soft microfibre cleaning cloth. A high-shine finish for un-coated brass can be maintained with brass cleaning agents (like Brasso).
To extend the life of your brass and copper jewellery, we recommend keeping in a soft pouch or jewellery box, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
While some styles may appear to have flexibility, all pieces should not be tampered with to prevent strain or breakage, as is standard with all pieces of metal jewellery.
Plated / Coated Jewellery
To restore shine to coated, silver or gold-plated jewellery, wipe with a clean soft cloth. Plated jewellery can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent dissolved in hot water. Do not use caustic cleaning materials (such as Brasso) as this may damage the plating or coating.
Keep away from hard surfaces as the bumps and scratches will cause wear to the plating.
Avoid exposure to perfume, oils and household chemicals. t and heat in a cool, dry place. Do not wear when swimming in salt or chlorinated water.
To extend the life of your plated jewellery, we recommend keeping in a soft pouch or jewellery box, out of direct sunlight.
While some styles may appear to have flexibility, all pieces should not be tampered with to prevent strain or breakage, as is standard with all pieces of metal jewellery.
Metal Chains
Some of our pieces use fine metal chain. Despite the quality of this chain, like all chains of this nature, the very delicacy that holds its appeal requires that it be treated with care. It can break if pulled or knocked and can become entangled if not stored properly.
If the chain features an S hook, do not bend the hook to fasten, simply thread through the link to wear. Hook clasps are not to be manipulated, to prevent strain and breakage.
Do not wear when swimming in salt or chlorinated water.
Dinosaur Designs is not responsible for damage caused to pieces through general wear and tear.
Resin Homewares
Resin
Like our resin jewellery, our resin homewares are made by hand in our Sydney studio.
Dinosaur Designs homewares are suitable for cold food presentation only.
These products should be hand washed in warm water. Resin may appear “frosted” after washing and should be rubbed with a drop of cooking oil to restore sheen. All resin pieces are not to be placed in a dishwasher.
All resin pieces are strong and durable but should be treated like a ceramic and are not shock-absorbent. Just like ceramic, it can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Dinosaur Designs is not responsible for breakages that result from pieces being dropped or knocked or that are damaged due to general wear and tear.
Resin is not fire resistant and so should not be used in an oven, a microwave, dishwasher or as an ashtray.
Like many materials, certain colours in resin may change over time, due to the conditions they are exposed to, including sunlight.
Resin is a non-porous material. If any cosmetic discolouration or stubborn marks are noticed, we recommend using a mild abrasive cleaner or cream cleanser to assist with removing them.
Resin Grinders
Dinosaur Designs salt and pepper Boulder grinders are to be used for their intended purpose only. Only use peppercorns in the Pepper grinder and coarse 4mm rock salt in the Salt grinder. Use of incorrect seasonings can cause damage to the mechanism. Grinders are not suitable for coffee, spices or any other substances.
Turning the top pebble in a clockwise direction will tighten the mechanism. This will determine how fine the salt or pepper is. It is best to turn for a few rotations prior to adding salt or pepper.
To refill, turn the top pebble in an anti-clockwise direction. This will open the grinder and allow you to refill at your leisure.
Do not wash, simply wipe with a cloth or a dry brush.
Avoid exposure to moisture to prevent rust.
Leave out of direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Please note that mechanisms requiring replacement due to misuse will be at the customers expense.

Glass
Hand-Blown Glass
Glass vases are fragile. Please handle with care. When filling the vases with water, hold at the base and fill slowly.
From time to time, the surface of sand blasted vases may appear frosted. To restore sheen simply rub with moisturiser.
High-shine glass vases should be cleaned with a good quality glass cleaner.
